Tsunami survivors face epidemic risks

Mind-numbing as the Tsunami death toll is, the figures are likely to rise unless emergncy infrastructure is set up to take care of sanitation and make potable water available.

UN officials believe that Cholera, Thyphoid and other diseases are likely to affect Tsunami-affected states. Reports of Cholera and Malaria are already trickling in.

Lack of sanitation systems, non-availability of drinking water and rotting bodies pose serious risks.
