Chennai: AID India's Tsunami Relief Report 4

AID India has come out with a detailed report of the Tsunami from day one and the relief efforts that have gone into it in Tamil Nadu. This report includes a lot of ideas for long-term relief as well, for those who are seeking such plans. The report can be accessed at: AID India Report

wouldn't know what their plans are, therefore. but here's my basic list, in no particular order:
a) an integrated cyclone shelter that can be used as a community school/health care center during normal times
b) one internet kiosk per village and training to a few villagers to read/interpret and respond to weather data. incidental benefit of course is the benefit of having access to the internet
c) desalination initiatives, at least till the monsoons arrive.
