There is a news spreading in Galle for fears of another tsunami attack, this may be a ploy by those with intentions of looting, all residents in Galle and other coastal areas are requested to stay in the refugee camps or houses; since scientifically such an occurence cannot take place.

Water has been apparently rising in Hikkaduwa and also Kalmunai. People in the coastal areas of Chennai have been asked to evacuate.

While looting is a pronblem on a small scale, the warnings of further tsunami are coming from trusted sources right round the region. Aftershocks upto 6 on the Richter scale have been recorded which will affect wave activity but not on the same scale as 26/12 was.
