FirstGov.gov Provides One-Stop Source for Government Tsunami Information

FirstGov.gov has responded to the Asia tsunami disaster by publishing a new page that brings together all available government information on the tsunami and its aftereffects.
The page highlights the status of Americans caught in this disaster and how individuals can contribute to U.S. relief efforts. This page is continuously updated as information becomes available.

Listed on the Asia Tsunami Disaster page are all federal contacts related to the relief efforts, including the State Department Hotline and the Agency for International Development's list of relief organizations working in the disaster area. Also included on the page is a link to the International Committee of the Red Cross FamilyLinks website, which connects families and friends separated by the disaster. Links to all U.S. embassies in the affected countries are listed as well, along with the latest news from the White House, NOAA, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Additional information is available on the FirstGov.gov tsunami page for citizens interested in offering assistance: "How You Can Help" and "About Earthquakes and
Tsunamis
." Resources for coping with stress from traumatic events such as this are also provided.
