I recommend donating thru Red Cross. They also have a "Shop-n-Donate" feature that 5% of purchases you made in Amazon.ca get donated to Red Cross... very clever! You can also lookup the ratings of these charities at www.charitynavigator.org, too bad it only has america organiazations rated.
