Credit card firms waive charges on tsunami donations
Credit and debit card providers have agreed to waive all charges on tsunami-related donations, an industry association said.
Donations to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), a coalition of British-based charities, had already been exempt from credit and debit card charges since last week, but those to individual charities were not.
APACS, the trade association representing debit and credit card issuers, said it had extended the waiver, which would be backdated to apply to donations made from the time of the disaster.
