India: Chhattisgarh to adopt two Tsunami-hit TN villages

Chhattisgarh will adopt two tsunami hit villages in Tamil Nadu and spend Rs 4 crore for its development.

"The State has dispatched 23 thousand quintals of rice worth Rs 2.3 crore for tsunami victims of Tamil Nadu," Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Raman Singh, said here today.

Singh said he had visited the tsunami-affected region and held discussions with Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa over the relief measures.
