The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that no South Africans were killed or injured in Malaysia, and has set up an information hotline regarding missing persons in countries affected by the Asian tsunami disaster.
Foreign Affairs has set up an operations centre in Pretoria for people seeking information about missing friends or relatives in countries affected by the quake. Anyone seeking information about friends and family in these countries should call one of the following numbers:
