High tide alert rattles Andaman islanders
Fishermen and farmers prepared to flee their homes in India's tsunami-hit Andaman and Nicobar islands on Saturday after authorities warned that high tides could again submerge their fields and huts.
Officials said there was no need to panic but the warning sparked fresh nervousness on the islands rattled by more than a 100 aftershocks since the Dec. 26 tsunami.

I was there when it all happended. And there was nothing much the govt officials could or did do. They were not even able to calm people down after the rumuors of the Australian quake spread.
