UNDP rolls out disaster information system

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has rolled out a Disaster information system to assist consolidation of damage and loss data in Asia.

To support damage and loss assessment efforts in the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Thailand BCPR is deploying an expert in disaster information systems, Mr. Julio Serje de la Ossa. Mr. Serje's mission to the region, together with associated software and hardware support is fully sponsored by COGNOS, a major software company in Canada.
