Kuwait increases aid to tsunami-hit nations to USD 100 million

Kuwait on Sunday decided to increase its aid to the tsunami-hit nations in southeast Asia to USD 100 million, said a statement issued after the weekly-cabinet meeting chaired by H.H. the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The statement said the council of ministers followed with grave concern the effects and repercussions of the Indian Ocean quake, and expressed deep regret at this humanitarian disaster, which killed and displaced hundreds of thousands of people and caused serious destruction to infrastructures and buildings of these nations.
